B-16 Returns to the Mothership
Today was the last day of Pope Benedict XVI’s time in New York, and Bob was definitely paying a 10 to the events of the day. He started the morning off by greeting his fans with the sounds of the “Concert for Hope” at Yankee Stadium playing in the background, and even treated us to sing-along to Jose Feliciano’s performance of “Lean on Me,” a clear hit with the people in the Yahoo! Live chat. Of course, we all need somebody to lean on, and today many of us were leaning on the one and only Pope, humbly pictured here on Bob’s television set:

Anybody who watches the show knows that Bob PoPo is a serious (and studious) Christian, and even though he has his own iced-out cross, he was quick to point out that there’s only one person in America right now with an iced-out cross cane.

Of course, this was Passover Sunday, and Bob celebrated by indulging in a little red wine while encouraging his viewers to eat only unleavened bread.

Bob didn’t spend the entire night focused on religious issues, of course, an took a few moments to address a far-out intergalactic traveler on another Yahoo! Live channel. The visitor didn’t have any concept of the earthly custom of receiving and paying traffic tickets, so Bob PoPo stepped in with a visual demonstration of the idea that transcended language and human thought in a universally understandable manner on par with Blind Willie Johnson’s Dark Was the Night, Cold Was the Ground and its inclusion in the Voyager spacecraft mission.

Rounding out today’s spiritual and pan-galactic concerns is Angel, Bob’s own little piece of Heaven. She might not have the gaudy jewelry of a Pope or a PoPo, but she’s always looking her best and that fancy little tag of hers gleams like all the silver in the world compressed into one very small bone-shaped volume.

That’s just about all for now, but make sure to go visit the BOBPOPO.SONG contest page for your chance to win many great prizes simply for writing a song about Bob PoPo! Oh, man, those are some really nice prizes he’s offering on there…just for making a song? Man.
